What is Cage Culture?

Cage culture is an aquaculture practice where fish are raised in net enclosures suspended in natural bodies of water like lakes, rivers, or reservoirs. These mesh cages allow for the free flow of water, providing a controlled environment for fish growth while leveraging the natural productivity of the surrounding ecosystem. This method offers a way to increase fish production from existing water bodies, creating income opportunities and addressing nutritional needs, with relatively low initial costs and simple technology.
